Gretsch G5422TG LTD Electromatic Double Cut - Midnight Sapphire HSC Rosewood

$899.99
sold out

This was my guitar used only in my home studio. The weight is 7.4 lbs. It was a demo model from a store with a Rosewood neck. It comes with a Gretsch hardshell case that was $180 brand new.

This is the newly redesigned G5422TG Electromatic hollow body from Gretsch! Since its introduction, the Electromatic series has embodied the essential Gretsch design and tone elements at an affordable price. With a few new tweaks, Gretsch has taken this outstanding line of electrics to a new level of professionalism and value.

The new Electromatic models have modifications and improvements both cosmetic and functional. For the new G5422TG they’ve added gold hardware and the body is now quadruple bound and finished with an aged white binding giving the guitar more luxurious yet vintage style. They’ve added a Graphtech Nubone nut for increased sustain and reduced string friction, which helps keep the guitar in tune with even the most rigorous Bigsby tremolo modulations. Gretsch has also modified the electronics, adding a treble bleed circuit to the volume pot, so your tone stays clean and crisp as you swell the volume.

The G5422TG is a full hollow body arch top with parallel tone bar bracing and a sound post. The sound post adds stability to the structure and increases sustain while allowing the guitar to retain the essential hollow body sound. This model features a thinner 2.25” double cutaway body that recalls the Chet Atkins Nashville and Country Gentleman models of the 1960’s. This design improves overall ergonomics and with a neck that joins the body at 17th fret this guitar offers much easier access to the upper frets. The neck angle is just right allowing the guitar to be set up with perfect action all along its 22 frets. The playability of the G5422TG is fantastic with nice low action and excellent fretwork. The neck is a "C" style shape with a low profile but not too thin. The new "Black Top" Filter’Tron pickups are excellent with full bodied tone and a warm vintage character. The bridge pickup is bright and snappy and has just the right amount of "twang". It has a well defined mid range and responds very well with as much overdrive as you like. The neck pickup is mellow and springy with a more "scooped" tonal character and sounds jazzy and mellow when played clean or smooth when overdriven. When combined, the pickup set creates the classic and lush, full bodied and articulate tone you’d expect from a Gretsch. Wheather it's rock & roll, jazz, blues, rockabilly, fingerstyle or punk rock and beyond, the G5422TG is right at home delivering the quintessential Gretsch sound. The G5422TG is a wonderfully versatile guitar that looks as good as it sounds, and that’s saying something!
